A ‘COMPLETELY fresh selection’ has been promised at the next Alderbury Clothing Exchange this month.
The clothes swap is returning to Alderbury Village Hall with items for both men and women, as well as babies and children.
Organisers said: “Every item available at the September event will be new to the exchange. This means anyone who has attended previous events won’t see the same donations coming back onto the rails.”
Alderbury Clothing Exchange is a non-profit community initiative which is run to help reduce clothing waste and give good-quality unwanted clothing a second life within the local community.
To make sure there is enough clothing for everyone attending, a one-bag limit on items taken from the exchange is in place.
“The team has been busy quality checking all of the donations ahead of the event, making sure that everything being offered is in good condition and of a standard that visitors will be happy to take home,” organisers added.

Alderbury Clothing Exchange: How it works
All you need to do is turn up, bringing any of your own unwanted, pre-loved items you would like to donate.
People are asked not to take clothing from the exchange with the intention of reselling it as the aim is to keep the event fair and make sure clothes go to people who will use and enjoy them.
A £3 donation is also requested to help cover the costs of running the event, including venue hire and insurance.
However, organisers are keen to stress that the donation should not prevent anyone from attending. Anyone who is unable to afford the £3 is encouraged to contact the organisers.
Alderbury Clothing Exchange will return on Saturday, September 26, from 10am to 1pm, with organisers hoping the fresh collection will make this event particularly exciting for both regular visitors and those attending for the first time.
The village hall is on bus routes from Salisbury and has a free car park for anyone who wishes to drive to the swap. For more information, visit Alderbury Clothing Exchange’s social media pages.
