COMPANIES across Salisbury came together last week to help raise more than £6,000 for Salisbury Hospice Charity.
The annual Corporate Gala Quiz held on October 11 at the Salisbury Arts Centre was described by organisers as a great success, as quizmaster Andy Munns led participants through eight entertaining yet challenging rounds.
The quiz covered a wide range of topics including 80’s culture, sport, general knowledge, and a unique music round.
The evening also consisted of a fish and chip supper, supplied by Britz Fish & Chips, as well as raffle and auction.
Salisbury Hospice Charity, which helps nearly 1,000 people every year, aims to raise £1.5 million of the £2.9 million running costs of the hospice each year, with events running throughout the year.
Louise Compton, corporate fundraiser, said: “The Corporate Gala Quiz was a great success, and it was inspiring to see so many new local businesses participate this year.

A spokesperson for Salisbury Hospice Charity said: “A special thanks goes to Jeremy Lamond from Woolley & Wallis Salesrooms for serving as the charity auctioneer.
“Salisbury Hospice Charity is also pleased to announce that the auction lot for the ‘sell your home for free’ kindly donated by Northwood Estate Agents, has been extended until October 31.
“The highest bidder will only pay their winning bid. A reserve has been placed on the auction lots of £1,000.”
