Five men caught hiding in hedge by drone sentenced for night poaching near Amesbury

FIVE men have been fined hundreds of pounds each after they were caught night poaching near Amesbury.

The men were caught hiding in a hedge with dogs by a police drone after the force were called to reports of night poaching in the Cholderton area on January 19 earlier this year.

The men were arrested and charged with night poaching, to which they pleaded guilty.

All five were sentenced at Salisbury Magistrates’ Court last Friday (August 8).

Sean McWhinnie, 44, of Lizard Close, Southampton was fined £200 and ordered to pay a surcharge of £80 and court costs of £85.

William Goddard, 41, of Norbury Gardens, Hamble-Le-Rice, Hampshire was fined £200 and ordered to pay a surcharge of £80 and court costs of £85.

Billy Goddard, 21, of Norbury Gardens, Hamble-Le-Rice, Hampshire was fined £333 and ordered to pay a surcharge of £133 and court costs of £85.

Jesse Dennard, 26, of Darenth Wood Road, Darenth, Kent was fined £200 and ordered to pay a surcharge of £80 and court costs of £85.

Riley Dennard, 18, of Billet Hill, Ash, Kent was fined £200 and ordered to pay a surcharge of £80 and court costs of £85.
