A SALISBURY school is celebrating “exceptional” A-level results after 37% of all grades awarded were A or A*.
South Wilts Grammar School (SWGS) had 157 students sitting their A-level exams this year.
Further Maths proved to be particularly strong at the school after 92% of grades were A or A*
A large majority of students secured their first-choice university places, including 11 future medics, dentists, and vets, and a 100% success rate for Oxbridge applicants.

A spokesperson for the school said: “Our students’ talents span far and wide – from musical theatre at the prestigious Bird College Conservatoire, to a highly competitive apprenticeship with DSTL, and many other exciting pathways.”

Top A-level results across England, Wales and Northern Ireland have risen with 28.3% of all grades are marked at A* or A, up from 27.8% last year.
UCAS said a record number of students got into their first-choice university.
