3pm, Saturday September 13. Second round FA Cup qualifying match. Salisbury FC v Laverstock and Ford FC.
SALISBURY FC will be hoping to put their league form behind them as they look to turn their fortunes against a team three leagues below them.
The club has had a somewhat tumultuous time in the National League South, picking up just four points in eight games.
Manager Brian Dutton said the club’s ownership team will have to decide if he should remain in post, adding that “open heart surgery” is needed to get to the root of the problem.
But the White’s next game is against local rivals Laverstock and Ford FC – and despite the gap in leagues, the two have plenty of recent history facing off against each other.
The most recent of which being a pre-season friendly carried out in Laverstock last July. The match showed a dominant Salisbury performance, as they won the match 0-5.
The Wiltshire derby was also played out the season prior, this time Salisbury bolstering six goals, with Laverstock and Ford attempting to minimise the deficit with a consolation goal.
However, on recent form, it is Laverstock and Ford who have come away with better results, having managed to score twelve goals in their last three league games, bolstering an impressive FA cup run up to this point to match.

Ticket prices have also been slashed for the encounter, with fans asked to fill the Ray Mac to make their voices heard.
The visitors’ manager, Liam McConnell, spoke ahead of this unmissable cup tie.
“Of course, we are delighted to put ourselves against a National League side once again but to go up against our neighbours, it just makes the tie all that more special,” he said.
“The players have come through three tough qualifying rounds to get this opportunity and we’ll look forward to what should be a fantastic occasion for us but also the entire city.”

Salisbury are yet to register a win this season, having taken a single point from their previous three league games.
The most notable of which being a draw away to Horsham, where a Mike Atkinson wonder strike fired his side into the lead, where they defended valiantly for 70 minutes, before their hosts were able to level the playing field.
Owner and chairman, Ali Alhamad, spoke on the anticipation leading up to the match.
“The FA cup is such a historic cup worldwide, well-known and one of the oldest, if not the oldest, cup competitions in the world,” he said.
“So being a part of that and also having a local rivalry is a big deal, I am looking forward to it and I look forward to enjoying it with our fans.”
The route to Salisbury has been an impressive one for their local rivals, most recently beating Hythe & Dibden, with Archie Lovegrove and Chae Sykes bagging the goals to fire their side into the second round of qualifying.
Dan Newman, chairman of Laverstock and Ford, is hopeful going into the match.
“It’s an unbelievable draw for everyone involved I’m cockerhoop with excitement! We hope we can all play our part and make it a special day for our city,” he said.
“We deserve this moment in the sun it’s what the magic of the FA Cup is all about. And of course, you never know…”
This match will see the winners one step closer to qualifying for the cup competition, with the third round qualifying taking place on September 27.
