TWO people have been arrested after a charity shop in Salisbury was broken into, with a safe, laptop and multiple cameras stolen.
Staff at Naomi’s House & Jacksplace in The Maltings arrived to work at 8am yesterday (September 18) to discover the door smashed in.
The break in is believed to have taken place overnight.
Police have now arrested a man and a woman, both in their 40s and from the local area, on suspicion of burglary.
Officers seized a large number of items, including suspected stolen items, a safe, tools and mobile phones, when searching an address in Harnham linked to the pair.
The man was also arrested on suspicion of theft after a mobile phone was stolen from a shopper in Sainsburys yesterday afternoon (September 18).

Sergeant Christopher Noke said: “News of a break in at any shop is upsetting but when it is a local charity shop which raises money to support children and young adult hospices in the local area, it certainly hits harder.
“As a result of some excellent teamwork between officers, PCSOs and Salisbury City Watch, I am really pleased that officers were able to conduct extensive enquiries to identify two suspects and locate what we believe to be most of the stolen property, including the safe, which appears to be unopened.”
Both individuals remain in custody for questioning and enquiries are ongoing.
