Talk to find out more about Pewsey’s White Horse

WILTSHIRE is well known for its abundance of iconic white horse landmarks – and an upcoming talk will reveal more about the white horse in Pewsey.

Brian Edwards will be giving a free, illustrated account of the county’s chalk horses at the Bouverie Hall in Pewsey next Tuesday (October 21), starting at 7.30pm.

Organisers said: “Join us as we journey through the creation, the upkeep and, at times, loss of Wiltshire’s white horses and hear about a new project to better understand Pewsey’s white horse.”

Brian’s talk will be followed by members of the Broad Town White Horse Restoration Group who will outline how a recent research project has impacted the group’s relationship with their horse.

The evening will then shift to discuss an exciting new project centred on Pewsey’s white horse.

The project will build on recent archaeological surveys by tracking historical changes to the horse and its locale, and recording ‘horse’ memories from members of the community.
