LOCAL shoppers are hailing the opening of the revamped Wilton Village shopping centre just in time for the festive season.
Previously known as The Guild or Wilton Shopping Village, the retail outlet on the edge of Salisbury, set within the historic Wilton carpet factory, has rebranded this month.
A Facebook post announcing the news said: “As we make this transition, you may still see the old names appearing in places for a little while – signage, maps, online listings and a few bits around the site will take time to fully update.
“We’ve been busy refreshing the look and feel of the site, restoring spaces, welcoming new independent businesses, and laying the foundations for an exciting future.
“The goal is simple: to create a vibrant shopping and leisure destination that honours its heritage while building something fresh, modern and full of life.”
Customers have reacted positively to the revival. Amy Hartfield said: “This is great news. We used to love to go here when it was the Wilton Shopping Village. Such a lovely space for families to meet up.”
Jane McNeill commented: “There are already some gorgeous independent brands which have opened here recently – Pod & Pip and The Cacao Grove are just a couple that spring to mind. If that trajectory continues it’ll be a fantastic destination. Great news to hear further plans are afoot!”
Debbie Mallett added: “A lovely setting with plenty of parking. Very much looking forward to the enhanced experience.”
Wilton Village is celebrating this exciting new chapter with a festive bundle giveaway, with gifts from some of the businesses, and one lucky winner can take it all home just in time for Christmas.
