CHARITIES and groups can apply for new funding as Persimmon Homes Wessex opens the latest round of its Community Champions initiative.
The scheme provides up to £6,000 every quarter to support projects that make a positive difference in the communities where Persimmon operates.
Since launching in 2020, Community Champions has awarded more than £3.5 million to charities and voluntary organisations across the UK.
Wiltshire Council’s cabinet member for strategic planning, development management, and housing Cllr Adrian Foster welcomed the initiative.
He said: “It’s really positive to see Persimmon supporting local charities and much-valued organisations here in Wiltshire.
“These groups do invaluable work to improve people’s lives, and programmes like Community Champions make a real difference by supporting them in their pursuits.
“There are so many local groups that rely on the generosity of others to deliver their services, so I’d encourage any organisation that makes a positive impact in our county to apply to this accessible funding programme.”
Sales director at Persimmon Homes Wessex Pauline Fletcher said the scheme reflected the company’s wider commitment to the communities it builds in.
She added: “One of Persimmon’s core missions is to leave a positive and lasting legacy wherever we build – and our Community Champions programme is a key part of that.
“The groups and initiatives that apply to our scheme make their areas a brilliant place to live, and we want our customers and the future residents of those developments to benefit from them as well. That’s why we are happy to support them in this way.”
