A RIDING centre in Wilton that supports disabled children and adults has launched an urgent appeal to find a missing pony feared stolen.
Riding for the Disabled – Wilton Group says Bertie, a much-loved pony formerly based at the centre, has disappeared from a field near Semley after being rehomed as a companion animal.
In a social media appeal, the group wrote: “HELP find BERTIE!!!! Our Riding for the Disabled centre in Wilton rehomed a pony as a companion to a home near Semley. He has gone missing from his field – potentially stolen!! Please share and get him back to us.”
The Wilton group is part of the national Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) network.
The centre works to enhance the lives of disabled children and adults through horse-based activities, offering therapy, building confidence and improving physical fitness to support personal achievement.
Volunteers and supporters are now sharing the appeal widely in the hope that Bertie can be located and safely returned.
Anyone with information about Bertie’s whereabouts is urged to contact Riding for the Disabled – Wilton Group or Wiltshire Police.
