A MUCH-LOVED resident at Dogs Trust Salisbury is searching for a forever home and staff say anyone looking for a loyal companion with a huge personality need look no further than Hartley.
The four-year-old Foxhound has become something of a celebrity at the rehoming centre thanks to his friendly nature, adventurous spirit and larger-than-life character.
Affectionately known as a “Big Friendly Giant”, Hartley is a dog who never does anything by halves.
Whether he is greeting visitors like old friends, exploring the countryside with his nose to the ground, or enjoying a car journey, he approaches life with boundless enthusiasm.
Staff said Hartley is adored by everyone he meets.
His popularity was highlighted recently when the team threw him a special birthday party complete with his own piñata.

At the centre, Hartley has also claimed a favourite lookout spot – a mound of earth where he can often be found surveying his surroundings.
So attached is he to the location that staff have jokingly renamed it “Hartley Hound Mound”.

Despite his confidence and charm, Hartley is still learning some important skills.
He is making excellent progress with loose-lead walking and is looking for a family who can help him continue adapting to life indoors, as he may previously have spent much of his time outside.
Dogs Trust believes he would thrive in a home with secondary school-aged children and could benefit from living alongside another friendly dog.
His new owners will need to match his love of adventure, as Hartley particularly enjoys scent games and tracking activities that put his impressive hound nose to work.
For anyone seeking a dog with a playful spirit, endless affection and a talent for making people smile, Hartley could be the perfect addition to the family.
