THE Rotary Club of Salisbury has a new president.
Clive Barnwell has taken on the role, succeeding Alan Corkill, and was installed from July 1.
A ‘handover’ ceremony took place at the White Hart Hotel, in the presence of a large number of Salisbury Rotarians and guests, including past mayor and Rotarian Atiqul Hoque; honorary member Dr Beth Robertson and past district governor Rotarian Caroline Millman.
Clive, who joined Rotary in 1992, is a retired chartered secretary and a Past president of Amesbury Rotary Club.
New president Clive said: “This year, the city of Salisbury will celebrate its 800th anniversary. Salisbury Rotary Club is very much a community club, and has itself over 100 years of service to the community.
“My objective is for the Club and its members to continue to organise and help on a variety of community and youth-related projects and activities, including the 800th anniversary, while having some fun in doing so and enjoying the fellowship of being a Rotarian.”
