Cathedral’s screening of Queen’s funeral follows thanksgiving service and Holy Communion
Salisbury Cathedral held a special screening of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral on 19th September with 700 people in attendance. The screening followed a service of thanksgiving for her life which was held on the previous day with people from all over the region coming together in the Cathedral to remember the Queen’s reign, give thanks for her life and pray for King Charles III. The Bishop of Salisbury, The Right Revd Stephen Lake gave the sermon with over 900 people in attendance.
Books of Condolence were made available in the North Transept following prayers led by The Very Revd Nicholas Papadopulos, Dean of Salisbury on 9th September which marked the Cathedral entering a period of mourning. The Cathedral also held a service of Holy Communion for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on Sunday 10th.
