Free dementia-friendly club launches in Salisbury

A CLUB open to people living with dementia, their relatives, and carers in the Salisbury area has been launched by a care home.

The free initiative, orchestrated by Home Instead Salisbury and Romsey’s registered care manager Liz Sillah, will offer social support and enrichment.

Attendees can enjoy complimentary tea or coffee while having a friendly chat with other members of the community in a warm and welcoming environment.

The club officially opened today (January 23) and will meet every Thursday from 2pm to 4pm at Bemerton Heath Community Centre in Salisbury.

Jonathan Gapper, the owner of Home Instead Salisbury and Romsey, said: “Being a leading home care provider in the area, we feel it’s our responsibility to provide sessions that brighten the weeks of those who could benefit from a little social interaction.

“These clubs welcome all and are set to bring joy and support to the Salisbury community.”

The care home is welcoming donations at the club, which will support the Stars Appeal, the charity for Salisbury District Hospital.
