Arrest after bike stolen in broad daylight in Salisbury

POLICE have made an arrest after a bike was stolen in broad daylight in Salisbury.

The theft was captured on camera which showed a masked person running off with a bicycle in St Thomas Square yesterday evening (July 2).

The video was shared anonymously on a Salisbury Facebook group yesterday, and sparked concern from residents.

One person said: “I don’t like this idea that young crooks have of wearing balaclavas.

“It is very scary but I know it’s so they can’t be identified. Really don’t like it.”

But police have reassured people that a suspect is currently being questioned following their arrest.

“We don’t currently have an identified victim for the crime and we are working to locate the stolen bicycle,” a spokesperson said.

“If it was your bike stolen, please contact us on 101 quoting reference 54250081630.”
