PEOPLE considering standing for election in local government can find out more during a special webinar next month.
Wiltshire Council is hosting the online event to give prospective candidates and agents key information they need ahead of May’s local elections.
The webinar takes place on February 11 from 6pm to 7pm and will be an opportunity for those considering standing for election and their representatives to hear from the Wiltshire Council election team directly, including the Returning Officer, and have their questions answered.

On May 1, Wiltshire residents will go to the polls to elect their representatives on Wiltshire Council, as well as town and parish elections.
Returning Officer for Wiltshire, Lucy Townsend, said: “This will be a useful session for all those considering standing for election this year.
“We’ll have people on hand to answer questions and talk through the nomination process and everything to consider so that the election is as smooth an experience as possible for everyone involved.
“We want to give people insight into the role of a local councillor and also make the nomination process as smooth as it can be so keen to provide as much guidance as possible.
“We want Wiltshire to be a strong democratic county, so I encourage as many prospective candidates and agents to sign up as possible and we look forward to speaking with them.”
