A FORMER teacher from the city who now volunteers for several charities is among six new Deputy Lieutenants selected to serve the county.
His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Wiltshire Dame Sarah Troughton DCVO announced the appointments recently and they include Primrose Campbell from Ferne.
Primrose and her family moved to Wiltshire in 2010 after many years of foreign travel, mostly in the Middle East, with her husband’s army career.
She then taught and last year retired after ten years as head of classics at Godolphin School.
Primrose is chairman of the Friends of Erlestoke Prison, a foundation governor of Wardour Primary School and honorary secretary of the Wiltshire Historic Churches Trust, as well as being involved in several charities such as the Wardour Dome Project, Salisbury Hospice and the Chalke History Festival.
Dame Troughton said: “I am delighted to appoint six new Deputy Lieutenants for Wiltshire. They all bring individual experiences from their different communities and areas, and it is a pleasure welcoming them to the team”.
