SALISBURY and Amesbury residents wishing to see the sunrise at Stonehenge this Summer Solstice can get a bus to and from the city.
Salisbury Reds has confirmed it is once again running its 333 bus service from both Salisbury and Amesbury to the ancient stones, which gives people the opportunity to enjoy the solstice without having to pay for parking.
Stonehenge was built to align with the sun on the solstices, and thousands of pagans, druids, spiritualists, locals, or simply tourists are expected to gather at the stones on Saturday, June 21 to welcome in the longest day as the sun rises behind the Heel Stone.
An adult return from Salisbury to Stonehenge will cost £13 through the Salisbury Reds app, while an adult return from Amesbury will cost £6.50.

Buses will leave Salisbury from New Canal stand U and Salisbury Rail Station between 6.30pm and 1am on Friday (June 20), returning from Stonehenge between 4am and 10am on Saturday (June 21).
People are asked to not activate their ticket until they are ready to board, as it is only valid for 30 minutes after the point of activation.
After English Heritage announced it has increased its parking charges for the event from £15 to £20 per car, Salisbury Reds are offering a cheaper alternative.
Long-time campaigner for free access to Stonehenge, King Arthur Pendragon, criticised the hike in parking charges and said that any move to charge for parking during times of pilgrimage, such as the Summer Solstice, constitutes a ‘pay to pray’ policy.
