Man killed after being hit by car in Amesbury

A MAN has died after being hit by a car in Amesbury.

The incident happened on the A345 Countess Road at around 7.30pm on Sunday night (February 12).

A Vauxhall Astra which was travelling south on the A345 Countess Road towards Countess roundabout when it was in collision with a pedestrian – a man in his 80s – a Wiltshire Police spokesperson said.

The man was taken to Southampton Hospital with multiple injuries but sadly died a few hours later.

“His family have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time,” they added.

“We are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone who may have dash cam footage.”
