A NEW partnership between two charities is set to strengthen support for people experiencing homelessness in Salisbury.
From March 31, ALABARÉ will formally join forces with Salisbury Trust for the Homeless (STFH), bringing together decades of local knowledge and wider regional expertise.
For more than 30 years, STFH has played a key role in supporting vulnerable people in the city, working alongside organisations including BCHA.
The new partnership aims to build on that legacy while expanding the support available.
Importantly, STFH will retain its Board of Trustees, ensuring the charity keeps its strong identity and community focus.
CEO of ALABARÉ Andrew Lord said they are “delighted” to work with STFH.
“This partnership reinforces our commitment to breaking the cycle of homelessness across the South West and Wales, while deepening our connection to our home city of Salisbury,” he said.
“By working together, we can offer more people the holistic, life changing support they need to rebuild their lives.”
Chair of STFH Maureen Pardy said the move would help secure the charity’s future while staying true to its roots.
She added: “We are proud of our long history supporting people experiencing homelessness in Salisbury.
“Joining with ALABARÉ strengthens our mission and ensures we can continue delivering the highest level of compassion and care.
“Keeping our Board of Trustees allows us to maintain our local roots while benefiting from ALABARÉ’s experience and scale.”
CEO of BCHA Lorraine Mealings also welcomed the news, saying: “After 18 years under the support of BCHA, STFH is now moving across to a more local parent organisation, which is an exciting and positive next step in their journey. We wish them continued success.”
The partnership reflects a growing trend of charities working together to meet rising demand – ensuring more people can access the support they need to rebuild their lives.
