PLANS have been submitted for the next phase of a major housing development in Fordingbridge, which could see 100 new homes.
Housebuilder Pennyfarthing Homes has lodged a reserved matters application for the second phase of its Sandle Park development off Whitsbury Road.
The application follows approval of the site’s first phase of 74 homes, which was granted planning permission in May 2025.
Construction on that phase is expected to begin shortly.
If approved, the latest plans would bring a mix of one to four-bedroom homes to the site, including 35 bungalows aimed at downsizers and people seeking more accessible accommodation.
According to the submitted plans, 25% of the homes would be classed as affordable housing, delivered through a mix of affordable rent, shared ownership and the first homes scheme.

The proposed development would also include public open space, landscaping and a children’s play area, alongside existing footpath links connecting residents to surrounding countryside.
Plans also reference sustainable drainage measures and electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
The wider Sandle Park development forms part of the Forde Valley area of Fordingbridge and follows earlier agreements relating to site access from Whitsbury Road.
In a statement accompanying the application, Nick Stone, land and planning director at Pennyfarthing Homes, said the newest phase aimed to deliver a range of homes to meet local needs while incorporating green space and sustainable design.
“This phase delivers a carefully crafted mix of homes and green spaces, ensuring Sandle Park meets local needs while enhancing Fordingbridge’s character,” he added.
The proposals will now be considered by planners, with residents and consultees able to comment on the application as part of the planning process.
