Police release E-FIT of wanted man after trio brandishing metal pipe reportedly forced entry to garage

POLICE are trying to identify three men after a garage was reportedly targeted by would-be thieves.

Three men reportedly forced entry to a garage at a property close to Green Lane in Whitsbury near Fordingbridge between 2.30pm and 2.35pm on May 3.

Police say the men were travelling in an unmarked white Ford Transit long wheelbase and that one of the men was holding a metal pipe and challenged the victim when approached.

Nothing was stolen during the incident, police say.

Officers have now released an Electronic Facial Identification Technique (E-FIT) in the hope of identifying one of the men.

He is described as white, approximately 40 years old and of a large build.

The second man, who reportedly challenged the victim, is described as white, approximately 27 years old, around 6ft1 with a large build and holding a metal pipe.

The third man is described as white, approximately 25 years old, around 5ft11 and of a large build.

A Hampshire Police spokesperson said: “We believe the men, described above, can help us with our investigation and would urge them, or anyone who knows their identity, to get in touch with us.

“We would also like to hear from anyone who recalls seeing anything suspicious in the area at the time of the incident.

“Do you remember seeing the vehicle, described above, travelling at speed around Whitsbury and Fordingbridge at approximately 2.30pm? If you do, where did you see it and what direction was it heading in?”
