DRIVERS in Salisbury are being warned of temporary access changes to Cathedral Close next week due to essential maintenance work.
From 8am on Wednesday, April 8 to 5pm on Friday, April 10, vehicles will not be able to enter or leave the Close via High Street Gate while scaffolding is assembled on nearby buildings.
During the three-day period, all vehicle access will be redirected via St Ann’s Gate on Exeter Street.

Motorists approaching from Crane Bridge Road and New Street will need to follow the one-way system around the Mercure White Hart Hotel.
Drivers of larger vehicles are being advised to take extra care, as the height restriction at St Ann’s Gate may prevent access to the Close.
All vehicles leaving the area will be directed out through Harnham Gate onto De Vaux Place.
Pedestrians and cyclists will not be affected and will still be able to use the High Street Gate as normal.
The temporary measures are being put in place to allow scaffolding to be safely installed for essential maintenance work.

So they will use harnham gate as their have done before
Harnham Gate will be exit only as it has been for many years(49 years since I tried a reverse flow and got caught by Close person in uniform on a push bike!}
