A MAN has been banned from driving for 19 months after officers spotted him trying to drive away while he was three times over the legal alcohol limit.
City Watch spotted 42-year-old Benjamin Collins of Westwood Road staggering to his car in Maltings Car Park on February 2.
Officers who were patrolling on foot around the city were called over, and they found Collins in the driver’s seat attempting to drive away.
“Collins was stopped and provided a specimen of breath, which revealed he was triple the legal alcohol limit. He was arrested on suspicion of drink driving,” a Salisbury Police spokesperson said.
