AN encampment has been set up in the grounds of Salisbury Arts Centre today (September 23).

Salisbury City Council says it is working with Wiltshire Council and the police to resolve the issue.

They said some people have already been supported into accommodation.

A spokesperson said: “Salisbury City Council is aware of residents’ concerns regarding the encampment located in the grounds of Salisbury Arts Centre.

“The city council is working with the relevant partners, including Wiltshire Council and Wiltshire Police, to resolve the issue in as timely a manner as possible, and identifying ways they can provide support.

“A number have already been supported into accommodation, and the others are being supported to explore other options. Further updates will follow in due course.”
