£3,000 grants up for grabs for community projects

COMMUNITY groups across Wiltshire are being urged to put forward projects for a new funding pot that could help transform neighbourhood spaces.

Home care provider Caremark has launched its Community Care Fund, a nationwide initiative designed to support grassroots projects that make a difference to communities.

The scheme is inviting members of the public, charities and organisations to nominate projects they believe deserve financial backing.

The ideas can be big or small, from improving a park with new plants, to helping a pre-school upgrade its play area, or enabling a community centre to refurbish its kitchen.

Charities or groups could also apply for funding to brighten up their premises, run creative activities such as arts clubs or buy equipment and supplies.

In total, three projects across the UK will each receive a £3,000 grant.

To enter, people must submit a nomination online explaining the project and how the money would be used, along with a supporting photograph.

From the entries, one finalist will be shortlisted from each of Caremark’s 12 regions across the country.

The 12 shortlisted projects will then be put to a public vote through the company’s website and social media channels, with the three winners decided by the public.

CEO at Caremark David Glover said the initiative is designed to highlight the value of small community projects that often operate quietly but have a big impact.

“We see every day how powerful local projects can be in bringing people together and improving quality of life,” he said.

“The Community Care Fund is our way of recognising and empowering the ideas that can truly transform lives across the UK.

“It is also about giving communities a voice. We know there are many inspiring projects making a positive impact, often quietly behind the scenes, and we want to hear about them.

“By opening the fund to public nominations, we hope people will put forward the projects they care about and help them access funding that can make a meaningful difference.”

Nominations are open until midnight on May 31.
