Country dancing to help keep riding therapy going

A NIGHT of country dancing and community spirit is set to help protect a lifeline service for disabled horse riders.

Wilton Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) is hosting a fundraising Barn Dance at The Pembroke Centre on Saturday, June 13, with all proceeds going towards replacing the roof of its much-used Indoor School.

The Indoor School plays a vital role at the centre, allowing therapeutic riding sessions to continue all year round for children and adults with a wide range of additional needs, including autism, physical disabilities, learning difficulties and dementia.

Without it, many riders would lose access to the calm, safe and fully accessible environment that helps build confidence, independence and wellbeing through horse riding therapy.

Organisers are hoping the community will rally behind the cause for what promises to be a lively evening of music, food and fundraising.

Guests can expect live music from Hambledon Hop Step, a buffet dinner, a bar and plenty of dancing, alongside a raffle, silent auction and the ever-popular “Head & Tails” game.

Wilton RDA relies heavily on donations and volunteers to keep its services running, with the centre supporting riders from across the area.

Tickets for the event cost £40 and must be booked in advance.
