CURRIES, dumplings, pork pies and even Cuthbert the Caterpillar were all on the menu as care home staff celebrated cultures from around the world.
Staff at The Cedars Care Home in Landford marked World Cultural Diversity Day with an international food festival, bringing together dishes from countries including India, Nepal, the Philippines, South Africa, Bangladesh and the UK.
The team were invited to cook and share food inspired by their home countries, turning the care home into a global buffet for the afternoon.

A global feast indeed!
Among the dishes on offer were Chicken Biriyani, lamb curry, dumplings, spring rolls, traditional English pork pies, bacon suet roll and Dorset apple cake, alongside Payesh, a traditional sweet dessert from Bangladesh.
And no celebration would be complete without a familiar favourite as Cuthbert the Caterpillar cake also made an appearance.

Time to tuck in!
The event was designed to celebrate the diverse backgrounds of staff while giving colleagues a chance to learn more about each other’s cultures, traditions and recipes.
Deputy manager at The Cedars Michelle Collins said: “We had a wonderful afternoon trying new dishes and discussing different traditions and recipes from all over the world.
“Our staff really went the extra mile to make this a special occasion and celebrate different cultures. It was lovely to see the staff mixing and enjoying time together socially.
“We have a wide diversity of staff and really value their hard work and dedication to making life for our residents enjoyable.”
