A MAN became aggressive and threatening towards staff at a Salisbury Tesco store – before smashing hanging baskets – after being confronted for not paying.

Police are keen to trace a person caught on CCTV at the Southampton Road store in connection with the incident, which happened at around 10am on April 29.

“A man attempted to leave the store with approximately £45 worth of goods before he was stopped by staff,” a Wiltshire Police spokesperson said.

“He then became aggressive and threatening towards the staff before throwing hanging baskets to the ground causing them to smash.”
