HOUSEWARES chain HomeSense says it has made the “difficult decision” to close the store in Salisbury.
The branch, at the Churchill Way West Retail Park, is due to close early in 2025 – along with the neighbouring Smyths Toys store – making way for a new Lidl supermarket.
A spokesperson for HomeSense, which is owned by fashion chain, TK Maxx, said: “This year, TK Maxx proudly celebrates 30 years on the UK High Street.
“Our shoppers love both TK Maxx and Homesense, and we continue to invest in communities nationwide through new store openings, relocations, and modernising our existing stores.
“Occasionally, we must make the difficult decision to close a store when its lease ends or cannot be renewed.
“In such cases, where possible, we offer roles to all associates in nearby Homesense or TK Maxx stores.

“We thank our loyal customers and associates and look forward to welcoming them to TK Maxx Salisbury in Cross Keys Arcade.
“Here, they can discover high-quality, top-brand homeware, fashion, gifts, and childrenswear, all at amazing value.”
They said HomeSense’s online stores continue to operate.
A planning application has been submitted for the new Lidl store, which would see the closure of Myths and HomeSense in Salisbury.
So how come Lidl can take it but Homesense can’t renew the lease?
What is Salisbury doing!? Homesense is amazing and the the slip road getting out at times is already horrendous!! Waitrose does not need competition next to it, as we can’t lose that also !!!
Homesense will be a big loss and we really do not need another supermarket on this site.. who I wonder is going to gain from this decision ……
