A NEW salon could be created in Amesbury if plans are approved.
Plans have been submitted to Wiltshire Council which would see the former builders store at Old Pump Station on South Mill Road turned into a salon.
The plans say the salon would provide a “high-quality, sustainable and inclusive facility that meets the evolving needs of the local community.”
Some alterations to the front of the property have been included in the plans which would “enhance the visual quality of the property while respecting the existing character of the area.”

These include replacing the existing entrance door, inserting a new window with obscured glass, and the removal of the garage door.
The proposed opening times of the salon would be 9.30am to 5.30pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, with it staying open until 8pm on Thursdays and closed on Mondays.
The plans state that vehicle movements and parking demand will remain low and will mostly occur outside the wider network’s busiest periods.

Agent LRJ Planning said: “It is clear from the above assessment that the proposal would provide a vibrant re-use of this building to the benefit of the whole local community.
“The proposal would not harm the residential amenity of any neighbouring property. Furthermore, there would be no harm to highway safety.
“It would also preserve the character and appearance of the area.”
