Man sentenced after breaching order preventing him from defecating in public in Salisbury

A MAN who ignored a criminal behaviour order (CBO) preventing him from defecating anywhere in public has been sentenced.

Michael Hill, of no fixed abode, was handed a two-year CBO in February which banned him from making intimidating noises in a public place, inhaling solvents, acting in any anti-social or intimidating way, defecate anywhere in public view in a public place and being intoxicated in a public place, all within the Salisbury Ring Road.

He appeared at Salisbury Magistrates’ Court yesterday (April 2) after pleading guilty to breaching the order.

Hill was also ordered to pay a £32 surcharge and fined £80.

He has already spent over 42 days in custody, which is equal to a 12-week custodial sentence.

PC Rachel Wood said: “A CBO is an order to help prevent anti-social behaviour and reduce offending.

“If Hill breaches any of the conditions imposed, he commits a criminal offence and is liable to arrest and once again he will be put before the courts.

“The restrictions imposed on him sends out a clear message that this type of anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated and we will seek similar conditions against others if proportionate to do so.”
