PLANS for a “once-in-a-generation £22 million project”, ‘Transforming Salisbury Playhouse’, are taking shape, and now the architects want the public to have their say.

The venue, built in 1976, is looking to undergo a major make-over with Wiltshire Creative unveiled plans earlier this year.

The project sets out an ambitious vision for the future, with upgraded facilities and a renewed commitment to developing the next generation of theatre-makers.

Reed Watts architects have been working with Wiltshire Creative on plans for both the Playhouse, and the Malthouse Lane roundabout outside the venue.

The proposed changes aim to revitalise the much-loved venue and its surroundings, and help secure the future of the building by making it more accessible and more sustainable.

Salisbury residents are now being invited to share feedback on the transformation plans at a drop-in consultation.

Members of the public will have the opportunity to view and share feedback on plans for the redevelopment with the drop-in consultation taking place at Salisbury Playhouse on Saturday 26 September from 10.30am to 1.30pm.

Plans and a model of the proposed transformation will be on display, with members of the Reed Watts team available to answer questions and gather feedback prior to submitting a planning application.
