The club said on the GoFundMe page: “We are truly heartbroken to share that Yate & Sodbury Scooter Club has suffered an unimaginable tragedy.

“During a recent group ride to the Normandy Beaches to pay their respects, we lost three cherished members of our community in a devastating accident.

“These were more than fellow riders – they were our friends, our family, and the heart of our club.

“In the face of this immense loss, we are coming together to honour their memory by supporting the emergency responders who fought to save them and the loved ones they leave behind.

“We are raising funds for three regional air ambulance charities whose teams acted with incredible speed and professionalism at the scene.

“Their work is often the difference between life and death, and they rely entirely on donations to continue operating.”

They added: “Our club is more than just a group of scooter enthusiasts — we are a close-knit family bound by friendship, shared passions, and the joy of the open road.

“The individuals we have lost were not only valued members of our club, but dear friends whose presence, laughter, and kindness will be deeply missed by all of us.

“Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with their families and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. We ask that their privacy be respected as they grieve this unimaginable loss.”
