A VOLUNTEER whose quiet acts of kindness helped support countless community projects will be honoured at a special event next week.
Be More Juli will take place at St Thomas’s House on Thursday, May 21, from 2pm to 4pm, bringing together friends, family, volunteers and community leaders to celebrate the life of Juli Richardson.
Known across Salisbury for her practical support and tireless volunteering, Juli helped a wide range of organisations and community initiatives behind the scenes.
Organisers say the gathering is not only a tribute to Juli’s legacy, but also a chance to shine a light on the often unseen work carried out by volunteers across the city every day.
The afternoon will include refreshments, shared memories, short talks and a commemorative planting in Juli’s honour.
Visitors will also be invited to contribute to a memory book filled with stories and reflections about the impact she had on local people and projects.
Fiona Ollerhead, one of the organisers and founder of the Pantry Partnership community food redistribution project, said Juli’s support had touched many lives.
She said: “Juli made a difference in the most practical and generous ways – the kind of support that often happens quietly, but without which many local groups would struggle.
“Be More Juli is about celebrating her life, sharing memories, and encouraging more of that same spirit of kindness, service, and community action in Salisbury.”
Organisers hope the event will also spark wider conversations about how volunteers and community groups can be better supported in the future.
Juli is pictured alongside fellow volunteers at the popular Pantry Partnership project, where she was known for her warmth, generosity and willingness to help wherever needed.
The event is open to anyone who knew Juli, worked alongside her, or simply wants to celebrate community spirit in Salisbury.
