Veterans invited to Salisbury Plain careers event

MILITARY personnel preparing to leave the Armed Forces are being invited to a dedicated careers event aimed at helping them take their next step into civilian life.

Landmarc Support Services will host Landmarc Pathways: From Service to Second Career on Tuesday, June 9 at Salisbury Plain Training Area, running from 9.30am to 3.30pm.

The event is open to service leavers, veterans and military spouses, and is designed to provide practical support at a time when many face uncertainty about future employment.

Transitioning from military to civilian careers can often be challenging, with individuals needing to translate highly specialised skills into a commercial workplace setting.

Organisers said the event aims to bridge that gap with attendees able to explore career routes within Landmarc and beyond.

They will also receive advice on CV writing and interview preparation and hear first-hand experiences from veterans who have already made the transition.

Support organisations including X-Forces Enterprise and SSAFA will also be on hand to offer guidance on self-employment and mentoring opportunities.

Talent acquisition manager at Landmarc Lucy Miles said the company was proud to support the Armed Forces community.

“At Landmarc, we recognise the qualities service leavers and veterans offer to the workplace,” she said.

“We are proud to support ex-service personnel as they navigate the transition into civilian careers.

“Our event is designed to provide practical guidance, valuable connections, and the confidence to take the next step in their careers.”

Landmarc, a key partner on the UK Defence Training Estate, said it supports millions of training activities annually and holds the Armed Forces Covenant Gold Award in recognition of its commitment to the military community.
