A NEW print and digital resource pack aimed at improving understanding and communication with autistic women has been launched in Salisbury.
Soroptimist International Salisbury has published Taking off the Mask – Revealing Autistic Women, a guide designed for autistic women, their families, friends and professionals working with neurodivergent people.
The pack brings together lived experience and practical advice, with contributions from both neurodivergent and neurotypical women.
One of the group’s members also provided the illustrations, adding a personal visual element to the resource.
Organisers say the aim is to help break down barriers in understanding how autistic women experience the world, with a focus on real-life voices rather than theory alone.
The resource also includes information on local and national support services, offering a wider signposting tool for those seeking help or guidance.
It is available to download online, with a limited number of printed copies being distributed to relevant organisations in the coming weeks.
A second print run is being planned, with the group hoping to secure sponsorship to extend its reach further, including potential use as a training resource.
Salisbury Soroptimist thanked Wiltshire Council for its support in helping bring the project together.
The group say they hope the pack will encourage more open conversations and improve awareness of autistic women’s experiences across workplaces, families and services.
