A MUCH-LOVED Salisbury event is set to return this month bringing together music, creativity and a shared passion for protecting the planet.
People in the Park will take over Queen Elizabeth Gardens on Saturday, May 16, offering a vibrant, family-friendly celebration of sustainability and community spirit.
Organised by Salisbury Transition City, the event has grown into one of the South’s biggest eco festivals, showcasing the wide range of environmentally friendly projects happening right on Salisbury’s doorstep.

This year promises more than 60 stalls featuring everything from crafts and food to community groups and local services.
Visitors can explore ideas around wildlife, renewable energy, transport, wellbeing and sustainable living – all while enjoying a lively atmosphere with three music stages running throughout the day.
There will also be a strong presence from organisations including National Trust, English Heritage and Wiltshire Wildlife Trust, alongside many smaller local groups.

Donations can also be made to Salisbury Foodbank.
Families are firmly at the heart of the day, with children’s activities including a quiz, face painting and crazy golf.
Budding young DJs can try their hand on the decks with Salisbury DJ Academy, while performers of all ages are invited to take to the open mic.

Creative recycling will also feature, with visitors able to bring along denim for transformation at Rosie’s workshop and relax afterwards with cream teas at Julia’s Vegan Kitchen.
One of the day’s standout attractions will be the chance to view content from the National Emergency Briefing event, offering insight into climate challenges and local responses.
Visitors can also see the remarkable Coat of Hopes, a travelling artwork that began its journey at COP26 and continues to tour the UK.
In keeping with the event’s ethos, all stages will be powered by renewable energy.
Running from 10.30am to 4.30pm, with free entry, People in the Park offers something for everyone – and a chance for the community to come together, share ideas and celebrate a greener future.
