South Wilts Grammar School celebrates “exceptional A-Level results”

A SALISBURY school is celebrating “exceptional” results from its A-Level students this year, many of whom will be progressing to highly prestigious institutions.

South Wilts Grammar School saw 218 students – their largest-ever cohort – completing their examinations this summer with 31% of all grades awarded at A or A*.

Among them were 31 students who achieved a clean sweep of A*/A grades across at least three subjects.

The school has said the results have enabled the vast majority of students to secure places at their first-choice universities, pursuing a diverse range of academic and professional pathways.

Commenting on this year’s achievements, Headteacher Dr Amanda Smith said: “We are immensely proud of every student’s hard work and determination. Achieving these results with our largest-ever cohort is a remarkable accomplishment.

“It is a testament to the dedication of our staff and students, whose collective efforts have created a supportive, inclusive and academically ambitious environment where all learners can succeed.”

Students will be progressing to highly prestigious institutions and courses, including Medicine, Mathematics, and Professional Dance and Musical Theatre at the renowned Bird College Conservatoire.

One student has also secured a spot at the Royal Welsh Conservatoire, while several others have gained places on highly competitive apprenticeship programmes in finance, law, accountancy, and the Royal Navy.

Bidding farewell to the successful cohort, the school wished the students success in their future studies, careers, and lives beyond school while looking forward to welcoming the next generation of Sixth Form students.
