A highlight of the visit was a live flying display, giving residents the chance to see the birds up close as they soared overhead.
The outing was part of the home’s regular programme of trips designed to keep residents active, engaged and connected to the wider community.

As well as taking in the sights, residents enjoyed a picnic prepared by the home’s head chef, Hayley, before heading back in high spirits.
The journey home was filled with laughter and singing on the minibus, rounding off what staff described as a joyful day.

Antoinette Roberts, general manager at Wilton Place, said: “Our residents have really enjoyed their day out at the Hawk Conservancy. Trips out in the homes mini bus are a regular event for the residents, and we always ask for ideas on where they would best like to go. The day was a lot of fun and we had great weather for the outing.”
Care home staff say outings like this play an important role in supporting residents’ wellbeing, offering not just a change of scenery but meaningful shared experiences.
For those who took part, the combination of fresh air, wildlife and companionship made it a day they won’t soon forget.
